Our School
Pak’s Karate Academy Fernandina stands for many things to our students and families; discipline, integrity, determination, leadership and building long lasting relationships, all pillars within our karate school. Pak’s Karate focuses on developing students both mentally and physically through self discipline, strength, coordination, balance and physical fitness. With student ages ranging from 4 years old to over 60 years old, Pak’s Karate proves you are never too young or too old to start earning your black belt.
History
Pak’s Karate Academy Fernandina began as a new journey in 1995 for Bryan and Carolyn Peeples under the mentorship of Grand Master Song Ki Pak, a 9th Dan Black Belt. Owners Bryan and Carolyn Peeples had a vision to provide a top notch martial arts training facility within the community and saw this to fruition with the current 14,000 square foot facility, built from the ground up. With prior martial arts training experience, Bryan partnered with his spouse Carolyn, a newer instructor, to cultivate a martial arts training environment that was welcoming to all ages and skill levels. Pak’s Karate Academy Fernandina is a special martial arts school where students become like family and the instructors are pushing students to always do their best and never give up.
What Sets Us Apart
Students of Pak’s Karate develop not only in the physical sense, the goal is to become a better person off the mat. When we say we focus on building a person rather than a student, our goal is to contribute to a student’s success in life away from the martial arts school environment. Our training centers around developing character, relationships and life skills.
With over 30 years of providing Fernandina Beach martial arts classes, we have built a strong school family. We have cultivated life-long relationships, teaching generations within our families and strive to grow our Pak’s Karate family with new students.
Our students’ health is a big priority for us. We start with our kids classes and build up flexibility, mobility, and introduce more advanced skills as students progress through the programs.
The 14,000 square foot facility was thoughtfully designed for martial arts training; attention to detail can be seen in each corner of the facility, all the way to the woodwork.
Our instructors are passionate about developing our students in life skills, training on the mat in martial arts and fostering strong personal growth outside of the school.
Our instructors have fine tuned their martial arts techniques through the years. They have built a well rounded skill set to teach all levels of students to help each meet their maximum potential and goals.
